The end of the year marks the end of some of our Block of the Month's (BOM's) and Clubs for the year. For those of us who have been taking part in the monthly classes, we are now seeing the fruits of our labor! We have now announced our new Thimbleberries Club for 2013! It's exciting because this year you have the choice of two different options! You can do one OR both!!
For 2013 you can either participate in the Block Party BOM to make a one large quilt or you can participate in the Block Party Club that will make 4 different smaller quilts! The board displaying the patterns and fabrics is now in the store for you to view.
What I love about taking part in a BOM or Club is that you have a large project to work on, however it's broken down for you into manageable chunks! Anyone can find time for a block or two per month! Then at the end of the year you have this wonderful large quilt or several smaller quilt tops done!! The smaller ones make perfect throws or lap quilts.
This years last small quilt has a Christmas theme. The beauty of that is that we should have it done in time for Christmas! If you were ambitious you might even be able to get it all quilted.
For each club there is a "joining" fee, in the case of Thimbleberries it is $20. Then there is a small kit fee each month. So your cost and your work is spread out over the year. If you haven't considered a BOM or Quilt Club in the past, maybe consider one for the new year! Stop in the shop or watch the website for registration information.
Happy stitching and may your bobbins always be full!

You CAN Quilt!
Have you ever walked into a quilt shop and just admired all the lovely projects displayed on the wall? All your creative juices are running and yet you feel overwhelmed by the number of possibilities? There are so many ladies out there just like you! However at the Parish, the ladies are there to help you. Our Parish Academy series is starting up again in September. Whether you're a newbie or an experienced quilter who needs to brush up on their skills, these informative classes can help!
Here is a quilt done by one our by one of Parish Academy graduates. She's only been quilting since January 2012 and began with Spring Fling, the first of the Academy series. Look at the wonderful job she's done with this quilt top! She shared with us that she was, "completely intimidated by so many of the blocks in the quilts she'd seen," but now she's well on her way to creating up a storm!
This quilt is from our Thimbleberries Series. This class meets each month with a fun project and a sweet treat.
We are hoping to feature some of our customer and student quilts in upcoming posts! We're hoping that it will inspire you and if you've been dreaming of quilting 'some day', maybe you'll find the confidence to give it a try! So stay tuned to your Parish Piece to see what your fellow quilters have been up too!
Have a wonderful day and many your bobbins always be full!!
